Is WordPress Actually Better Than Wix? 

Well, the simple answer is it depends. Several factors go into deciding which website creator is better for you. Things like overall experience, budget, what your overall goal all come into play when deciding which one is better. 

Experience 

If you are new to website design and have no coding experience, then Wix is the better choice. They designed Wix with the beginner in mind. Wix has a simple drag and drop builder, which makes designing a site quick and easy. WordPress is not that simple. Knowing something about technology and coding is necessary.

In this category, WordPress wins hands down. Wix has over 500 design templates, but to switch templates, you will need to recreate your entire site. WordPress leaves the designing to you. They offer some prebuilt themes, but if you have the experience, you are almost limitless in what you can design. 

Ecommerce Sites 

Ecommerce sites are continuing to grow, and WordPress is the best place for those sites, especially if they are rather large. Wix can only handle e-commerce sites that are smaller and are not selling a sizeable amount of product. 

For the Bloggers 

Bloggers may want to give WordPress a long look when deciding which platform to use. WordPress has features such as supporting images, private posts, and post backdating that Wix does not offer.  

Price Point 

Hands down, Wix wins on this one. They offer plans starting at $13 a month. Things add up quickly on WordPress. Your bill could be anywhere from $200 to over $1,000, depending on all the services you require.
